Mt. Tabor Church Gets New Steeple Following Tornadoes

  • Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church's new steeple has been completed. The old steeple and roof had been damaged in the tornadoes of Apr. 27-28, 2011. The first photo ("before") was taken by Phil Gentry of The Greeneville Sun. The four "after" photos were taken by Sandra Bishop, a user, who attends the church. Of the seven Greene County tornado fatalities, at least three were members of the Mt. Tabor congregation.

Jim Winfree Celebrates 25 Years of Service at St. James Church

The church honored Winfree with a monetary gift during it's annual St. James Day picnic at Hardin Park on Sunday, July 24, 2011, to recognize his musical service to the church. Winfree is a graduate of Tennessee Tech University and is a certified colleague of the American Guild of Organists.
